I'm a Virginia Beach-based pet care provider with 10+ years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, and everything in between. Animals have always been my passion this isn't a side gig, it's a calling.

I started Paw & Play Co. because I know how stressful it is to leave your pet behind. I wanted to be the person pet parents could actually trust someone who genuinely loves their animals as much as they do, shows up every time, and treats their home with respect.

Everything you need to know before booking with Paw & Play Co..

Standard walks are 30 minutes. 60-minute walks are also available. If you need something in between, extended time can be added in 15-minute increments.

We can walk multiple dogs from the same household together. We do not mix dogs from different households on the same walk to keep things safe and stress-free for everyone.

We walk rain or shine! For extreme weather like thunderstorms or dangerous heat, we will shorten the walk and substitute with indoor enrichment activities to keep your pup active and stimulated.

Yes, your dog will be on leash at all times during walks unless you have a securely fenced private area and have given explicit permission for off-leash time.

We walk your dog in your own neighborhood to keep things familiar and comfortable. If you have a preferred route or want us to avoid certain areas, just let us know and we will follow your instructions.

We bring waste bags and clean up after your dog on every walk. We can also bring water and a travel bowl for longer walks. Just let us know if your dog has any special needs.

Absolutely. Recurring weekly walks can be scheduled in advance and are a great way to build a consistent routine for your dog. Reach out to discuss availability and preferred days.

Each visit includes feeding, fresh water, a potty break for dogs, litter box cleaning for cats, 20 to 30 minutes of playtime and affection, a quick tidy up, and a photo update sent to you.

Yes! Every drop-in visit includes the Paw & Play Co. enrichment kit with sniff mats, lick mats, puzzle games, and rotating toys at no extra charge.

Most clients provide a spare key or a lockbox code. We handle your key with care and confidentiality, and it is returned to you at the end of your service.

Yes! Drop-in visits are great for cats, small animals, and other pets. We tailor each visit to your pet's specific needs so everyone gets the care and attention they deserve.

You can book as many visits per day as your pet needs. Many clients book two visits for longer work days. Just let us know your schedule and we will do our best to accommodate.

We offer morning, midday, and afternoon visit windows. Early morning and late evening slots are available for an additional fee. Exact times are confirmed at booking based on availability.

An Adventure Date is a real hiking trip for your dog — not just a longer walk around the block. I pick your dog up, drive them to a proper trail, and give them the kind of deep physical and mental stimulation that actually tires them out. It is ideal for high-energy dogs who need more than a standard walk can offer.

I choose trails in and around the Hampton Roads area that are dog-friendly, well-maintained, and suited to your dog's fitness level. The exact trail is selected based on the length of the outing and your dog's energy and stamina. If you have a favourite trail in mind, just ask!

Yes, your dog stays on leash for the entire hike. Trail safety is always the priority, and keeping dogs leashed protects them from wildlife, other hikers, and unexpected hazards on the trail.

I come fully prepared with fresh water and a collapsible bowl, a pet first aid kit, waste bags, and any treats or snacks you provide. Your dog's comfort and safety on the trail is always covered.

Absolutely. You will receive photo updates from the trail and a full recap with trail notes when your dog is dropped back home. You will know exactly where they went and how they did.

Yes! Additional dogs from the same household are welcome. There is an additional fee per dog to ensure everyone gets proper attention and care on the trail. Please mention how many dogs you have when you reach out.

Adventure Dates are best suited for dogs that are leash-trained, healthy, and have the stamina for trail hiking. They are especially popular with high-energy breeds who need more than a neighbourhood walk. If you are unsure whether your dog is a good fit, just reach out and we can chat about it.

For overnight stays, I am at your home through the night and into the morning. For 24-hour care, I remain at your home throughout the day and night. Brief personal errands may occasionally be needed but your pet is never left for long periods.

You will receive a morning and evening photo check-in every day. If anything noteworthy happens in between, you will hear from us right away.

Yes! In addition to caring for your pet, we collect mail, rotate lights, water plants if needed, and make sure your home looks lived-in and secure while you are away.

Yes! The Paw & Play Co. enrichment kit comes along for every house sit. Your pet will have sniff mats, lick mats, and puzzle activities throughout the stay to keep them mentally engaged and happy.

Absolutely. We can care for multiple pets during a house sit including dogs, cats, and small animals. Additional pets are charged at a per-night rate so everyone gets proper attention.

There is no strict minimum, though house sitting is most popular for trips of two nights or more. For single-night stays, a drop-in visit or overnight stay may be the better fit. We are happy to help you figure out what works best.

Absolutely. Puppies as young as 8 weeks can begin learning basic skills. Early training builds good habits and helps your puppy develop confidence and social awareness from the start.

We use positive reinforcement only. That means treats, praise, and reward-based learning. No punishment, no dominance techniques, and no aversive tools of any kind.

Yes, owner participation is required. Training happens inside the home and the goal is to teach you how to communicate with your dog so the skills continue after the session ends. Your involvement is what makes the training stick.

The training offered by Paw & Play Co. is foundational obedience based on personal experience. For dogs with aggression, severe anxiety, or complex behavioral problems, we recommend consulting a certified professional trainer and are happy to provide referrals.

Each session is 60 minutes. This gives enough time to warm up, work on skills, coach the owner, and wrap up with a recap and homework for the week ahead.

Most dogs show noticeable improvement within the first one to two sessions when owners follow the practice routines at home. Consistency between sessions is the biggest factor in how fast progress happens.

Yes, a second dog from the same household can be included in the same session for an additional fee. Keep in mind that each dog learns at their own pace, so separate sessions are sometimes more effective.

Yes, we can administer oral medications during drop-in visits and house sits for a small additional fee. Please let us know at the time of booking so we can go over the details.

Your pet's safety is our top priority. In the event of an emergency, we will contact you immediately and take your pet to the nearest vet if needed. We always ask for your preferred vet information before any service.

Payment details are confirmed at booking. We accept common payment methods and ask that payment is completed before or on the day of service. Packages may be paid upfront at a discounted rate.

Yes, we are available during most holidays though slots fill up quickly. Holiday bookings carry a small additional fee and we recommend booking as early as possible to secure your spot.

Terms of Service

Please read these terms before booking with Paw & Play Co.. By scheduling any service, you agree to the following.

By booking any service with Paw & Play Co., you confirm that you are the legal owner or authorized caretaker of the pet(s) in question. You agree to provide accurate information about your pet's health, temperament, vaccinations, and any known behavioral concerns prior to the start of service. Paw & Play Co. reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service at any time if a pet is deemed a safety risk to the sitter or others.

All pets must be up to date on core vaccinations. Proof of vaccination may be requested before services begin. Paw & Play Co. is not responsible for illness or injury resulting from undisclosed medical conditions.

Payment is due on or before the date of service unless otherwise agreed in writing. Paw & Play Co. accepts common payment methods including cash, Venmo, Zelle, and other agreed-upon methods. Invoices left unpaid for more than 7 days may incur a late fee.

Refunds are issued at the discretion of Paw & Play Co.. Services that have been fully rendered are non-refundable. Partial refunds may be considered in cases where service was cut short due to circumstances within our control. Training refunds are governed separately under the Training Disclaimer section below.

We ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice for all cancellations. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may be charged up to 50% of the scheduled service fee. No-shows without any notice may be charged the full service rate.

Holiday bookings require a minimum of 48 hours notice for cancellation. Holidays include but are not limited to: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Paw & Play Co. reserves the right to charge a holiday rate surcharge for services rendered on these dates.

Paw & Play Co. takes every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your pet. However, we cannot be held liable for illness, injury, death, loss, or damage resulting from pre-existing medical conditions, undisclosed behavioral issues, acts of other animals, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

In the event of a medical emergency, Paw & Play Co. will attempt to contact you immediately and, if necessary, transport your pet to the nearest veterinary facility. Any resulting veterinary costs are the sole responsibility of the pet owner. By booking our services, you authorize Paw & Play Co. to seek emergency veterinary care on your behalf if you cannot be reached.

Paw & Play Co. is not responsible for damage to property caused by a pet during a service visit, including but not limited to chewing, scratching, accidents, or destruction of household items.

By booking with Paw & Play Co., you grant permission for photos and videos of your pet to be taken during service visits. These may be shared with you as part of our visit update service. Paw & Play Co. may also use photos and videos of your pet for marketing purposes, including on our website and social media accounts.

If you do not consent to your pet's image being used for marketing purposes, please notify us in writing before your first service. We will honor all opt-out requests and will only share images privately with you as visit updates. We will never include personally identifiable information about you or your home in any public content without explicit consent.

Rayna of Paw & Play Co. is not a certified professional dog trainer. Training services are offered based on personal experience and positive reinforcement methods. Results are not guaranteed and will vary depending on the individual dog, breed, age, and the owner's consistency in reinforcing learned behaviors between sessions.

Training continues inside the home and requires the owner's active participation. Paw & Play Co. is not liable for a lack of progress resulting from an owner's inability or failure to follow and reinforce the training instructions provided during sessions.

Refund eligibility for training services: if training is proven completely ineffective and the dog shows zero measurable improvement after all sessions are completed, a full refund will be issued and referrals to certified trainers will be provided. If the owner is unsatisfied but the dog demonstrates some level of improvement, a partial refund of up to 50% may be issued at our discretion. All refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the final session and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
