Paw & Play Co. ("we", "us", or "our") is a small pet care business based in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. We keep things simple because we believe you deserve to know exactly what's going on with your data.

Information we collect

We collect only what's needed to provide our services:

Booking form submissions — your name, phone number or email address, pet name and breed, and service requested. This is submitted through our booking form and sent directly to our email.
Client portal registration — owner name, phone number, pet details (name, breed, age, medical notes), and emergency contact information. This is stored in our secure cloud database.
GPS location data — during active trips, your sitter's live location is recorded and stored as a route trail. This data is associated with your pet code and is visible to you through the client portal.
Push notification subscription — if you opt in to push notifications through the client portal, your browser's push subscription token is stored in our database so we can send you trip updates. You can revoke this at any time through your browser settings.
Trip photos — photos taken by your sitter during a visit are stored in our database and visible to you through the portal.

How we use your information

To follow up on booking requests and confirm service details
To provide access to your pet's trip history and live tracking through the client portal
To send you real-time push notifications when a trip starts or ends (only if you opt in)
To maintain accurate records for your pet's care

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with any third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a secure cloud database with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Booking form submissions are delivered to our private email inbox. We do not store payment information — all payments are handled directly and privately between you and Paw & Play Co.

GPS and location data

GPS tracking is active only during confirmed, scheduled service trips. Location data is recorded by the sitter's device and pushed to our database in real time so you can follow along. Once a trip ends, the route is saved to your trip history and the live session is deleted. We do not track the location of clients or their pets outside of active trips.

Push notifications

Push notifications are entirely opt-in. When you access the client portal, you may be asked whether you'd like to receive notifications when a trip starts or ends. If you agree, your browser's push subscription token is saved to your pet's record in our database. You can withdraw consent at any time by revoking notification permissions in your browser settings, or by contacting us directly to have your subscription removed.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Request a copy of the information we hold about you and your pet
Ask us to correct any inaccurate information
Request that we delete your data from our system

Children's privacy

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
